Description

Sh2-301 is also known as Gum5, RCW6, Bran 6 and 7, Ced 93 and LBN 1044.
It is located in the Constellation of Canis Major and sits very close to the Star Sirius.

My auto guiding isn't set up yet past the Meridian so this one was unguided. I kept my capture rate down to 45 seconds so I wouldn't have to throw out many subs due to tracking errors. Lot's of Hydrogen in this one so plenty of data to work with.

More integration time would reveal a larger hydrogen cloud to the west. Very faint in my image. I will try this one again later using autoguiding and longer subs.

Thanks, Eddie
